Birthday card with foam embellishment

I made the main embellishment from a circular piece of foam. Another opportunity to use my new buttons! The blue satin round ribbon matches the colour of the middle one.

I punched the lacy border into a matted silver paper which resembles brushed aluminium.

The greeting is printed on the computer.
One day I thought it would be a good idea to just try out various fonts to create a collection of birthday sentiments. This gave me a nice stack in different colours to choose from.

Flower made with knitting yarn

For this birthday card I recycled a postcard of a painting showing a cricket game. I toned the embellishments down in colour as it's more of a men's card. I used Fantasia Chunky knitting yarn to make the flower. Isn't the button cute - I love the stitching on it!

Ice queen style

The image on my "season greetings" card reminds me of the ice queen in the Narnia story. I know she is a scary baddie but nevertheless I can identify a bit with the way she dresses in those blue, icey green and blueish grey colours, which is what I often choose for my clothes. And she wears the sort of dress that I think would look good on me, too. I hope the similarity ends here!
